If you’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, you might be feeling overwhelmed and scared. What do you need to do now? How will this affect your life? This post will outline the basic steps that are necessary for anyone newly diagnosed with Lyme. While every case of Lyme is different, these general tips should help get you started on your journey to recovery. Stay positive, focus on treatment, and don’t hesitate to ask for help from family and friends. You can beat Lyme disease!
There are so many treatments for Lyme but unfortunately, there is not just one that works. You can choose to go down the more western medical route with antibiotics or only do it naturally. Either way, the tips below can be used right off the bat with whichever path you chose. One piece of advice I do have is no matter which doctor you go to find one that has treated Lyme before.
It may be an ILAD doctor or it may be a functional medicine doctor or a naturopath but just make sure they are well versed in Lyme. You may be waiting to see a doctor, trying to find a doctor you don’t have the funds to see so I have compiled the things you should do immediately at home. There is so much you can do on your own to start your healing process. Don’t wait for a doctor to start today.
The first thing I would do is change your diet. There are so many diets out there and there is not one that works for everyone but the common theme I see between Lyme Warriors is the following
Although all the above, may not be out of your diet forever, I would remove the above ASAP until you feel better. Give your body a chance to detox.
Drink 8-10 glasses of clean water a day. Do not drink tap water. Depending on who you talk to everyone has a different opinion about water. Just make sure it is clean!
Put minerals in your water. Your body is probably depleted because the Lyme depletes your body of the necessary minerals your body needs. I use these minerals.
Make sure your body is detoxing. You want to make sure you are pooping, sweating and your liver is working. There are so many ways to detox your main organs.
Get the stress out of your life ASAP! Remove anything and anyone that causes you stress. Find a professional to talk with or start meditating. There is a good app specifically for Lyme which can be found HERE.
Are you sleeping 8 hours a night?
If not, you need to make this a priority. There are so many good supplements out there now. I love Kava, melatonin and I have taken some CBD if the pain was too much. My room has to be dark, cool, and quiet. oh, and don’t forget to put away your phone.
You can start by taking herbs to help kill the lyme, build up your immune system and rebuild your mitochondria. So many good brands out there. I like Dr. Rawl’s Vital Plans supplements and herbal line.
I know it sounds crazy but if you haven’t tried it doesn’t knock it. It may be a game-changer in your health. It was for me.
