Dana Parish, a Sony singer/songwriter/advocate, joined forces with her Lyme doctor DR. Steven Phillips to write Chronic: The Hidden Cause of the Autoimmune Pandemic and How to Get Healthy Again. Parish went from doctor to doctor looking for a cure.  After almost dying from heart failure, she was lucky enough to find a world-renowned, Yale-trained doctor, Dr. Steven Phillip, an expert in vector-borne illnesses and treating complex chronic cases. He, too, suffered from chronic Lyme, almost dying as well. Phillips was shocked at the lack of knowledge and empathy from his fellow doctors but eventually healed himself.

From his experience, he has cured thousands of Lyme and chronically sick patients. Throughout Parish’s treatment from Philips, she forged a friendship with the doctor. They decided to write a book about the ongoing epidemic that the medical community is not addressing. Chronic highlights this epidemic, what is causing it, and what can change.  

My Review of Chronic

Chronic does not just address Lyme, but all microbes, viruses, and infections that cause autoimmune and chronic conditions, and they refer to this as Lyme + throughout the book. Lyme is only one piece of the puzzle that is causing our autoimmune pandemic. They use science to explain the truth about why this is happening and why the conventional medical community has this pandemic so wrong. Chronics debunks widely believed myths about Lyme + and why it is difficult to diagnose and treat this pandemic. In the second half of the book, Chronic highlights solutions, and treatments for patients to take back their life and heal.  

For those of you suffering from Lyme or other chronic conditions, this book is a must-read. You no longer will feel like you are alone or going crazy.
